Never miss a commitment.
A day late is better than not getting it done. But, you know what is even better?
Set Goals And Follow Through With Them
Ok, so today is Saturday.
My newsletter is supposed to go out every Friday, but, it didn’t
And that’s OK.
It’s not optimum. It is not what I wanted. But it is what it is.
And it is 100% my responsibility.
I could make all kinds of excuses or reasons as to why it didn’t go out yesterday.
But they would be just that, excuses.
And excuses don’t pay the bills. And excuses don’t get the work done. And excuses don’t build your sense of accountability and responsibility.
One of my favorite books (that many celebrities and high achievers credit some of their success to) is called “The Magic Of Thinking Big” by David Schwartz
Chapter 2 is titled “Cure Yourself Of Excusitis, The Failure Disease”
It talks about taking 100% responsibility for all your actions and the results that come from them.

No one is perfect.
I’m definitely not perfect.
And that’s what makes us all great.
It’s not about placing blame, or making yourself feel bad for things that go wrong.
Exactly the opposite.
Your entire life up to this point is the culmination of every choice, action, and event that got you here.
A car blows through a red light and T-bones you. you caused it. You chose to drive today, you chose to take that road. You chose to drive through that green light.
A business partner stiffs you for $342k. (oddly specific, right?) You caused it. You chose to work with that person. You chose to let them into that position. You chose to continue working until it became a problem.
Email newsletter doesn’t go out on the right day at the right time. I caused it. I chose not to complete it earlier in the week. I chose not to have it done and scheduled. I chose to spend time with my family to celebrate my birthday rather than write the newsletter.
You get the idea.
We cause everything that happens in our lives.
Good and bad.
Got a big house? You caused that.
Got a great job? You caused that.
Got an amazing family? You caused that.
Got a strong body? A smart mind? A great idea? Amazing friends? Important goals? Drive? Ambition? Purpose?
Dreams?
You caused that.
It is up to you.
Every little thing in your life is the culmination of some choice that you made.
Good or bad.
You caused that.
Goals
If you want to achieve your biggest goals, you need to understand this.

Mindset
Your parents determine your history, but YOUR choices determine your future.
Your choices are more powerful than your ethnicity, your background, your lineage and the statistics you’re currently a part of.
YOU can choose to change or choose to blame.
The choice is yours.

Live With Purpose
This is your life.
No one else’s.
You are in charge. It is your responsibility. Everything that happens is because of you.
Good or bad.
Make the decision to make it great.
It won’t always turn out like you want it to, and that’s OK.
That’s part of the fun in life.
There are always more challenges, adventures, and situations to experience and learn from.
Don’t wither away by doing only what is expected of you. Don’t do the things the 99% do. Don’t live every day in boring, mindless, monotony.
Start each day with an idea of how you can make it 1% better than the day before.
Build at least one step on the ladder to your dreams.
And when you get there, you can say “I caused it”
